An open letter to Afghan govt Murdered Afghan Interpreter and Journalist Missed Afghan journalist Ajmal Nakshbandi killed by captors The Italian Lived; the Afghan Died On March 5, members of the Taliban abducted Italian journalist Daniele Mastrogiacomo, Afghan journalist Ajmal Naqshbandi, and driver Sayed Agha while the group was working in southern Afghanistan. Within days, Sayed Agha was beheaded by his captors, who accused him of ‘spying.’ Mastrogiacomo was freed on March 19, in exchange for the release of five Taliban prisoners by the Afghan government. In April and May 2007, November Eleven managed a special Ajmal Fund, to be distributed to the families of Ajmal Naqshbandi and Sayed Agha. Donors and supporters from all over the world have lent their support, and the contributions are now being passed to their destination. |
